Frequently Asked Questions

PurchasesHow do I restore my lifetime unlock on a new device?

Open the app, go to Settings → Restore Purchases. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so make sure the device is signed in with the same account you purchased with. Purchases and refunds are processed by Apple; refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Free versionWhat are the free version's limits?

Every calculator and the reference tables are free forever. The free version holds up to three saved inspections, and generated reports carry a SAMPLE watermark. The one-time lifetime unlock removes both limits.

ReportsWhy does my report say SAMPLE across it?

That's the free version's watermark. Unlock the lifetime upgrade from any report screen or the inspections list to generate clean, client-ready reports.

ReportsHow do I get my company name and license on reports?

Go to Settings → Report Branding and fill in your name, company, license number, phone, and email. They appear on the cover page and footer of every report you generate afterward.

DataIs my inspection data backed up anywhere?

Your data lives only on your device — there is no cloud copy. It is included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or computer backup), so keeping device backups on is strongly recommended. Deleting the app deletes its data.

DataCan I move my data to a new phone?

Yes — restore the new phone from a backup of the old one during setup, and the app's data comes across with it.

CameraThe camera button doesn't work.

Check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and make sure Septic Inspector Pro is allowed. If you declined the permission prompt the first time, this is where to turn it back on.

ValuesA calculator result doesn't match my county's requirement.

That's expected in some jurisdictions: the app uses typical reference values in the style of common national guidance, and local codes frequently differ. The local code always governs — use the app's numbers as a field cross-check, not as a substitute for your jurisdiction's tables. If you'd like your state's specific tables supported in a future version, email us; that's exactly the feedback that shapes the roadmap.

RequestsCan you add a feature?

Send it in. Feature requests from working inspectors get priority — the checklist itself was built around how a site actually gets walked.
